About OHA

Old Haileyburians’ Association

The Old Haileyburians’Association is a large, vigorous organisation, the purposes of which are as follows:
  • to promote the welfare and advancement of Haileybury through the activities of Old Haileyburians
  • to provide means whereby Old Haileyburians may be kept in touch with each other and to promote unity and good fellowship among them and develop in them affection for the welfare and advancement of Haileybury.
  • to promote sport, recreation, entertainment, amusement and education among Old Haileyburians and to organise, manage, control and give financial assistance to associations, clubs and teams for any such purpose and to encourage social interaction between members of the Association.

The OHA conducts a number of social and fundraising functions during the year. Year group reunion dinners are held, and are extremely popular with former classmates, who appreciate the opportunity to catch up with old friends.

The OHA plans for one major function each year, which brings together Old Boys ranging from the 1940’s to last year’s school leavers, along with special guest speakers, and the presidents of the kindred associations of the other 10 APS schools.

The OHA also provides the services of specialised sporting coaches to assist school coaching staff in various sports in summer and winter, and has been a major sponsor of the Old Haileyburians’ Amateur Football Club.

Annual matches between the school cricket, football and hockey and OHA teams are keenly played for perpetual trophies.

The annual OHA Occupational Options Evening has been a great success since its inception seven years ago.

Each year, over 40 Old Haileyburians from various professions participate, attended by students and parents from Years 10, 11 & 12, and we encourage Old Haileyburians to be part of these seminars.

The OHA has a feature section in the school’s Haileyburian magazine, which is published three times a year, along with the OHA Newsletter.

In this you will find all the OHA news, reports and information regarding social functions, sporting teams and events, prominent Old Haileyburians, and the various fund raising activities.
